Mount Macedon beginner day hike
Mount Macedon beginner day hike
September 27, 2026
TICKET RELEASE: Sunday, 20th September at 12pm
Join MUOC on our Mt Macedon beginner day hike and end your mid-semester break with a bang! 🥾⛰️ We will be taking on Camel’s Hump for an 8km hike with panoramic views of the Macedon Ranges. Then we’ll embark on a 2km circuit of the iconic Hanging Rock (and have a ‘picnic’ there too!)🧺🥪
Please note: This hike is rated ‘moderate’ on AllTrails. The terrain is well-formed but gradually ascends most of the way and is prone to becoming muddy and slippery after consistent rainfall. Fallen branches may block the path. While we have categorised this as a beginner hike, please exercise caution and conduct further research if you think you may find it difficult. Sturdy hiking shoes are a must.
🗓️ When: Sunday, 27th September
📍Where: Mount Macedon Regional Park, Hanging Rock State Park
🏔️Hike: Braemar College to Camel’s Hump Lookout ~8km, Hanging Rock Circuit ~2km
🥾Equipment: Please ensure you have sturdy hiking shoes
💵How much: $30, to cover fuel cost and entry fees into Hanging Rock
👥Who: All MUOC members are welcome, regardless of experience!
We are looking for extra drivers to take participants from Monash Clayton, so if you have a car and can drive 3 people, make sure you fill out the EOI in our bio for EARLY TICKETS! Successful drivers will be emailed with the ticket link at 12pm on Saturday 19th, September. You will also be paid $60 for petrol and the use of your car 😀
Don’t forget to set your alarms, as this event is likely to sell out fast!!
LET’S GO WILD 🌿
If you have any questions, feel free to email bushwalking@mboc.org.au
