What happens when you take 80 excited bumblies into the bush for a weekend? Answer that and you’ll soon figure out how this trip got its name!
Carnage is perhaps our most iconic trip, and certainly our largest. We head off into the Cathedral Ranges for 2 days and 2 nights in search of adventure, laughs and the occasional wombat! This trip is specifically designed to give bumblies a taste of what our club has to offer in a welcoming, relaxed environment. You will have the opportunity to try Bushwalking, Kayaking and Rock Climbing over the weekend, with our friendly activities reps there to guide you through. This year we’ve scheduled the trip for 17-19 March.
Friday night we all carpool up to the Cathedral Ranges where we set up camp before the activities on Saturday! Saturday morning we will be up bright and early for a big breakfast and then your first round of activities. You can choose between rock climbing, kayaking, an easier half day hike or a more challenging full day hike! Those on half day activities will come back to camp for lunch, and then head off to their afternoon session.
Saturday night is when we relax by the fire, have a few well-earned drinks and share stories of the day. Our theme this year is ‘Anything but clothes’!
Sunday you’ll get the chance to try a different activity in the morning, before we pack up and head back to Melbourne. Of course, there is the obligatory Buxton Burger on the car trip back!
The cost for the weekend will be $60, and we provide all your activity specific gear as well as Saturday dinner and breakfast both days. If you need to hire tents/sleeping bags etc – our blockhouse reps will be happy to help you out. We hire gear out really cheaply for our members so you’ll be all set to take on the weekend!
If you have any more questions about the weekend in general, please don’t hesitate to email the club President or Vice President. If you have queries about gear hire, or a particular activity, all our reps emails are on the contact page.
We have an awesome weekend planned, and we hope to see you all out there!
